MD SPORTS YOUTH FIELD HOCKEY LEAGUE

MD Sports Youth Sports Leagues in Partnership with the Montgomery County Department of Recreation

MD Sports Field Hockey league for children in grades 4 through 8

Please register with the Department of Recreation

The first practice will be held at the Potomac Community Center.  The initial practice/clinic will be conducted from 4:00PM to 6:00PM on Saturday September 19th.  Games may be scheduled between the hours of 2:00PM and 5:00PM.  The schedule will be posted on MD Sports web site.  The games will be played either 5 v. 5 or 7 v. 7 depending on the number of participants.  No goal keepers.  Maximum number of participants per team is 14.  Minimum number of participants per team is 8.  Practices will be held 20 minutes prior to the start of game.  Games will consist of two 20 minute halves.  Shin guards, mouth guard and cleats are mandatory.  Bring your own stick.  Parent volunteers are required for the teams to participate.  MD Sports will conduct the initial practice/clinic and assist with additional practices.  MD Sports will provide certified officials for the games.   Complimentary team t-shirts will be provided.   Pre registration is required for participation.  You can email your questions to jasminaperazic@rcn.com.

The rosters will be compiled based on registrations received.  If you have registered, and your daughter's name does not appear on the lists below, please contact MCRD 240-777-6076.

MD Sports Fall 2009 Instructional Field Hockey game schedule 

  (games will be played 7 vs 7, no goal keepers)  

Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to game start time.  Shin guards and mouth guards are mandatory.   Games will be played 7 vs. 7, no goalkeepers, for grades 6,7 and 8; and 5 vs. 5 for grades 4 and 5, no goalkeepers.  Playing time should be equal.  Please do not run up the score.  Respect the umpire’s calls.  Remember sportsmanship and fair play come first.  MD Sports reserves the right to suspend or expel any spectator, player or coach who exhibits un-sportsmanlike conduct.  Comments or questions can be emailed to mdsports@mdsports.org.  Games may be cancelled due to the weather, please call (301) 581 0583 for a recording.  We will schedule one make up game, time and field availability permitting.
